Every supplement category we develop and manufacture

We develop custom formulas for wellness brands across the supplement categories below, from GLP-1 companion nutrition and healthy ageing to sports nutrition, sleep and pet supplements, and make them in our Leicester facility, which is ISO 9001, HACCP and GMP certified by BSI, and FDA registered. Each formula goes into the format its dose needs: gummies, capsules, tablets, softgels, powders, stick packs, liquids, drinks or pouches. Every batch is tested by accredited partner laboratories as part of every order. Your formula is yours in every category. Each category will have its own page setting out the evidence, the claims each market allows and the formats that suit.

  • Weight management and metabolic health: GLP-1 companion nutrition built on protein, fibre and micronutrients, plus blood sugar formulas carrying authorised nutrient claims such as chromium's. In a US cohort of 125,474 adults starting GLP-1 medicines, 64.8% of those without a blood sugar indication stopped within a year (Rodriguez and colleagues, JAMA Network Open, 2025): maintenance and off-ramp nutrition follow the people who stop, and the people who stay. No authorised claim refers to GLP-1, and the ASA classes claims that a supplement affects GLP-1 as medicinal claims.
  • Healthy ageing and longevity: muscle, bone, joint, heart and cognitive ageing formulas, from creatine, protein and vitamin D to newer actives such as urolithin A and NMN where each market allows them.
  • Women's health: life-stage formulas from menstrual health to pregnancy, perimenopause and menopause, built on authorised nutrient claims such as vitamin B6 and the regulation of hormonal activity.
  • Gut health: defined probiotic strains, postbiotics, fibres and prebiotics. Outside live yoghurt cultures and lactose digestion, no probiotic claim is authorised in GB or the EU, so claims rest on fibres such as chicory inulin and on nutrients.
  • Beauty from within: collagen, hyaluronic acid and hair, skin and nail formulas, with claims carried by nutrients such as biotin, zinc and vitamin C rather than by collagen itself.
  • Sleep, stress and mood: magnesium, L-theanine, saffron, glycine and ashwagandha formulas. Melatonin is a prescription-only medicine in the UK (as of October 2026).
  • Cognitive health and nootropics: focus and cognitive health formulas with choline, citicoline, L-theanine and caffeine. See nootropic and brain health supplement manufacturing.
  • Sports nutrition: creatine, protein, electrolytes and hydration. Creatine holds an authorised performance claim at 3 g a day on the GB and EU registers.
  • Vitamins and everyday health: multivitamins, vitamin D, omega-3, B vitamins, zinc and iron, where most authorised claims sit. We use the vitamin and mineral forms each market permits and set overages from stability data, so the label stays accurate through shelf life.
  • Pet supplements: joint, gut and calming formulas for companion animals. As of October 2026, these are complementary feed in GB and the EU, not food supplements, so feed law applies, from feed labelling rules to registration of the business that makes them.
  • Herbal supplements: ginseng, turmeric, rhodiola, shilajit and other botanicals. EU botanical health claims remain on hold, so wording needs care in every market.

How to choose a supplement category

If you are comparing private label supplement categories, ask three questions before you brief a formula. Is demand structural or a fad? Is the human evidence growing? What can the label say in each market you sell in? Then match the format to the dose.

Need states and life stages

Brands plan by need state, but life stage decides the customer. For older adults, Nutrition Business Journal reports US healthy ageing supplement sales up 14.3% in 2025, the fastest-growing condition that year, and women's needs now run from menstrual health through pregnancy to menopause. Products for children and teens face tighter rules: as of October 2026, New York bans sales to under-18s of supplements marketed for weight loss or muscle building, and California adds a similar ban from 1 January 2027, so we put age statements on the labels of those products.

Evidence and claims by market

Market Route to a health claim What it means for a category
Great Britain Authorised claims on the GB nutrition and health claims register, with their conditions of use; we use the register's wording No new authorised claims in 2025 or 2026, so categories without their own claims rely on the nutrients in the formula
European Union Authorised claims on the EU register; botanical claims still on hold The same nutrient-led approach, with national rules shaping botanicals and live cultures
United States Structure-function statements notified to FDA, carrying FDA's mandatory disclaimer, with substantiation on file More room in the wording, with evidence needed behind every statement

Regulation-dependent categories

Six ingredients are sold under different rules in each market: berberine, green tea extract, ashwagandha, melatonin, NMN and CBD. We make GB and EU berberine formulas with standardised plant extracts and use isolated berberine hydrochloride in US formulas only. NMN goes into US dietary supplements, with a new dietary ingredient notification, but is not yet authorised as a novel food in GB or the EU. Sleep, metabolic and healthy ageing formulas carry most of this exposure. Each of these ingredients will carry a dated "where it can be sold" panel on its own page, and our regulation watch page will track them every quarter.

Match the category to the format

Gram-level categories, such as sports nutrition, gut fibre and collagen, suit powder supplements and stick packs. Small-dose categories, such as sleep, cognition and vitamins, suit gummies, capsules, liquid drops and pouches. Oil-based actives such as omega-3 and coenzyme Q10 suit softgels. Protein and fibre also go into ready-to-drink shakes, bars and snacks; hydration and vitamin formulas into effervescent tablets, functional drinks and liposomal liquids; and caffeine-led energy and focus formulas into energy drinks, functional coffee and tea, and chewing gum. We make every one of these formats in Leicester. Our supplement formats overview sets out the trade-offs, and every ingredient behind these categories is listed in our ingredient library.

Our research and development team turns the category, the evidence and the claims into a formula, through bench samples, a pilot batch and scale-up, and you receive the formula, the specifications, stability data and test reports. R&D is a paid stage that can be included with an order of the right size. Your formula is yours. Start your project.

Where this is going

To 2030

Demand concentrates in need states with evidence and repeat use, led by GLP-1 companion nutrition, gut health, healthy ageing, creatine and women's health

To 2036

Nutrition becomes part of health care pathways, with room for targeted supplementation; evidence decides which categories hold a premium

What to watch

Claims limits: most need states have few authorised claims in the UK and EU

Questions brands ask

Which supplement categories do you develop?

We develop custom supplements across weight management and metabolic health, healthy ageing, women's health, gut health, beauty from within, sleep and stress, cognitive health, sports nutrition, vitamins and everyday health, herbal supplements and pet supplements, and make them all in Leicester. Each category page sets out the evidence, the claims each market allows and the formats that suit. Your formula is yours in every category.

Which formats suit each supplement category?

It follows the dose. Gram-level categories, such as sports nutrition, gut fibre and collagen, suit powders and stick packs, and protein and fibre also go into ready-to-drink shakes and bars. Small-dose categories, such as sleep, cognition and vitamins, suit gummies, capsules, drops and pouches, and oil-based actives such as omega-3 suit softgels. We make every one of these formats in Leicester, and our R&D team recommends the format at the brief stage.

Can a supplement make health claims in the UK and EU?

Only authorised claims from the GB or EU register, with their conditions of use. The law allows wording with the same meaning for consumers; we use the register's wording. Most belong to vitamins, minerals and a few other substances, such as certain fibres and creatine. Botanical claims remain on hold in the EU, and probiotics and newer actives such as collagen and NMN hold no authorised claims, so their formulas let nutrients carry the label. We check every claim against the register for each market.

Can you develop products for people using GLP-1 medicines?

Yes. We build GLP-1 companion nutrition around protein, fibre and micronutrients for people taking or coming off GLP-1 medicines, with claims drawn only from authorised nutrients, in compact, nutrient-dense servings such as ready-to-drink protein shakes, fibre stick packs and capsules, all made in Leicester. Marketing needs care: the ASA classes claims that a supplement affects GLP-1, or compares with prescription weight-loss medicines, as medicinal claims.

Which supplement categories depend on regulation?

As of October 2026, six ingredients are sold under different rules in each market: berberine, green tea extract, ashwagandha, melatonin, NMN and CBD. Melatonin, for example, is a prescription-only medicine in the UK but sold as a supplement in the US, and NMN goes into US dietary supplements but is not yet authorised in GB or the EU. We confirm status before formulation and choose the ingredient form each market allows.

Who owns the formula we develop together?

You do. Your formula is yours, in every category and every market: you receive the formula, the specifications, stability data and test reports, and every batch is made to the specification you approved. R&D is a paid stage that can be included with an order of the right size, and our R&D team proposes formula updates when ingredients improve or the rules in your markets change.
