Bespoke NAD+ and NMN supplement manufacturing
British VitaTech is an NMN supplement manufacturer that develops and makes custom NAD+ and NMN supplements for brands, led by the markets where NMN can be sold today, such as the US, and the brand owns the formula.

One NAD+ programme across three markets, built on NMN and NR
With NMN for the US, and nicotinamide riboside chloride (NR) or nicotinamide formulas for Great Britain and the EU, one programme can launch in all three markets today: as an NMN supplement manufacturer, we take these custom NAD+ supplements for brands from formulation to finished product in our Leicester facility. We make capsules, tablets, powders, sachets and stick packs, gummies, liquids, shots and liposomal formats, with NR at up to 300 mg a day for GB and EU adults and NMN within the conditions of use of its US notification. Every batch comes with a certificate of analysis. Your formula is yours.
NAD+ sits within our healthy ageing and longevity supplement manufacturing. Nutrition Business Journal reports that healthy ageing was the fastest-growing US supplement condition in 2025, with sales up 14.3%, and names NAD precursors among its ingredients of note (Nutrition Business Journal via Ingredients Network, 2026).
We specify each precursor by form, purity and status in every target market.
| Form | Where it stands, as of October 2026 | What we specify |
|---|---|---|
| Beta-NMN (nicotinamide mononucleotide) | US: a new dietary ingredient, usable once the notification requirement is met. GB and EU: not authorised. | The beta form, purity by HPLC, nicotinamide content and residual solvents; for the US, a notification that covers your dose |
| Nicotinamide riboside chloride (NR) | GB and EU: authorised novel food for food supplements, up to 300 mg a day for adults, and a permitted form of niacin. US: FDA had no questions about a GRAS notice for its use in certain foods, and supplements follow the new dietary ingredient rules. | At least 90% nicotinamide riboside chloride, predominantly the beta form, as the GB and EU specification requires; labelled "nicotinamide riboside chloride" |
| Nicotinamide and nicotinic acid | Permitted forms of niacin in food supplements in GB and the EU. | The niacin source behind niacin's authorised claims in formulas without NR |
| Botanical and polyphenol companions | Depends on the extract. Trans-resveratrol is authorised in GB and the EU for adult food supplements at up to 150 mg a day. | Standardised extracts, each screened against the EU novel food catalogue and the FSA's register |
NR chloride is also a permitted form of niacin in GB and the EU, so an NR formula can carry niacin's authorised claims on its own. For the US, we qualify each NMN source on its route of manufacture, purity, beta-form content and residual solvents, and keep the notification behind it on the supplier file.
In enzyme tests, flavonoids such as luteolin inhibit human CD38, an enzyme that consumes NAD+ (Kellenberger and colleagues, 2011), and calcium alpha-ketoglutarate (Ca-AKG) draws mainly on mouse research (Asadi Shahmirzadi and colleagues, 2020). Neither has an authorised claim, and we confirm each source's novel food status before any GB or EU launch. Urolithin A has its own page: urolithin A supplement manufacturing.
Where NMN and NR can be sold, and what their labels can say
United States: NMN on sale now
As of October 2026, FDA's position is that NMN can be used in US dietary supplements as a new dietary ingredient. A supplement containing it needs a notification to FDA at least 75 days before it enters interstate commerce, unless an exception applies. We source NMN backed by a notification whose conditions of use cover your dose and format, or prepare one for your programme. Claims need competent and reliable scientific evidence, a notification to FDA and FDA's standard disclaimer; see custom supplement manufacturing for US brands.
Great Britain and the EU: NR chloride now
As of October 2026, NR chloride is authorised for food supplements in both and counts as a permitted form of niacin; NMN is not authorised in either. Labels use niacin's six authorised claims, such as "Niacin contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue", for a product that is at least a source of niacin. No authorised claim refers to NAD+, mitochondria or ageing. GB and EU rules on NMN are under review, so we keep an NMN version of your formula ready alongside the NR version, on the same format and pack.
The "where it can be sold" panel on this page is dated and reviewed every quarter, and our supplement regulation watch tracks NMN with five other regulation-dependent ingredients. We guided one UK pouch brand, a client since 2023, through regulatory and compliance checks as it expanded into Europe, the USA and Mexico; NAD+ programmes get the same work.
Blood NAD+ response by dose, and a bond that breaks in moisture
NR and NMN doses in human trials
NR is authorised in GB and the EU at up to 300 mg a day for adults. In 140 healthy overweight adults aged 40 to 60, NR at 100, 300 and 1,000 mg a day raised whole-blood NAD+ by 10%, 48% and 139% after two months (Conze and colleagues, 2019). In 80 healthy adults aged 40 to 65, NMN at 300, 600 and 900 mg a day raised blood NAD at every dose, and 900 mg did no better than 600 mg (Yi and colleagues, 2023). GB and EU NR products sit at or below 300 mg a day; a US NMN product follows the conditions of use in the notification behind its ingredient.
By molar mass, 300 mg of NMN carries about 110 mg of nicotinamide, and 300 mg of NR chloride about 126 mg, against niacin's nutrient reference value of 16 mg; a niacin claim needs only 15% of that, 2.4 mg, in the daily dose. Because NR counts as niacin in GB and the EU, the label declares the niacin it supplies, and added nicotinamide raises that total.
Conversion and breakdown of NR and NMN in the gut
Outside cells, the enzyme CD73 converts NAD+ and NMN to NR. NR is expected to cross the gut wall poorly by passive diffusion, an oral dose can be broken down to nicotinamide in the gut and liver, and uptake from a 1,000 mg dose varied widely between people (Mehmel and colleagues, 2020). So we choose the precursor by market and by the human data for that form. Liposomal and sublingual products sell on absorption; in the US, that claim needs competent and reliable scientific evidence relevant to the product.
A labile bond, moisture and heat
NR has a relatively labile glycosidic bond, and NR salts are unstable (Mehmel and colleagues, 2020); NMN carries the same bond between nicotinamide and ribose. Moisture and heat are the main risks, so materials are handled within humidity limits, capsules use HPMC shells, which carry 4% to 6% moisture against 13% to 16% for gelatine (Al-Tabakha, 2010), and stability studies, run by accredited partner laboratories, track the active and nicotinamide, its breakdown product, in the final pack.
NAD+ precursors in HPMC capsules, gummies or liposomal shots
As an NAD+ supplement manufacturer, we make every format in our Leicester facility, which is ISO 9001, HACCP and GMP certified by BSI, and FDA registered.
- Capsules: a fixed daily dose in HPMC shells, GMP certified. See capsule and tablet manufacturing.
- Tablets: a precursor with niacin or resveratrol in one daily unit.
- Powders, sachets and stick packs: higher US doses for a drink, sealed against moisture. See powder supplement manufacturing.
- Gummies: the active goes in late, and every gummy batch gets an active assay as standard.
- Liquids, shots and liposomal formats: GMP certified, with shelf life set by real-time stability in the final pack. See liposomal supplement manufacturing.
Building the US NMN and GB and EU NR formulas side by side
Every formula runs through our development stages: brief, evidence review, formulation, bench samples, blind sensory panels, a pilot batch on production equipment, stability in the final pack, and scale-up. Each stage leaves a record you keep. For a three-market programme, we develop the US NMN formula and the GB and EU NR formula side by side, so both versions share a format and a pack design.
- Specify. We set the precursor, form, purity, dose and claims for each target market with you.
- Source. Every material comes from a supplier that has passed our supplier approval, reviewed annually. We confirm each lot's identity against its certificate of analysis, and for the US we keep on file the notification that covers the ingredient.
- Weigh and blend. Materials are weighed against the batch record within set humidity limits, under our allergen management plan with yellow colour coding, then blended and checked for uniformity. NMN and NR are reconciled by weight, so every gram of a high-value active is accounted for.
- Fill or form. Capsules are filled and checked by weight, tablets compressed and coated, powders filled or sealed into stick packs, and gummies cooked with the active added late.
- Pack. Capsules and tablets go into high-barrier bottles with induction seals and a desiccant, or into blisters; powders into foil-laminate stick packs; gummies into sealed jars or pouches. The pack is chosen in stability, so it protects the active to the end of its shelf life.
- Label and release. Labels are written for each market: niacin content and niacin's claims for GB and EU NR products, structure and function wording with FDA's disclaimer for US NMN products. Label verification on every batch is the critical control point in our HACCP plan, and quality control releases every batch against its specification.
An NMN supplement manufacturer should prove the beta form and dose
Ask how the dose on the label is proved. Every batch is tested by accredited partner laboratories (ISO/IEC 17025) as part of every order, to a specification set per product and market:
- Identity and assay: NMN or NR by HPLC at release and across shelf life, with nicotinamide as the breakdown marker.
- Purity: the beta form and related substances for NMN; at least 90% nicotinamide riboside chloride for NR.
- Contaminants: residual solvents; lead, cadmium and mercury against the GB and EU maximum levels for food supplements; and microbiology.
- Moisture: water content for capsules and powders, and water activity for gummies.
Our quality system adds a HACCP study per product type, reviewed annually; three retained samples per batch, kept for shelf life plus one year; and a full mock recall, forward and backward with mass balance, in seconds. Nothing is dispatched without quality control sign-off, and our testing and batch release page sets out the approach. Every batch comes with a certificate of analysis and a batch release confirmation, and development adds the formula, the specification with its test methods, stability data and a claims review for each market.
Research and development is a paid stage that can be included with an order of the right size. Start your project with your target markets, and we will propose the precursor, the dose for each market and the claims route.

Questions brands ask
Can you make NMN supplements for the UK and EU?
Not for Great Britain or the EU today; we make NMN supplements for the US. As of October 2026, NMN is not authorised as a novel food in either, so we build GB and EU products on nicotinamide riboside chloride or nicotinamide, both permitted forms of niacin, and labels carry niacin's authorised claims. GB and EU rules on NMN are under review, so we keep an NMN version of your formula ready alongside the NR version.
Is NMN legal in US dietary supplements?
Yes, as a new dietary ingredient. As of October 2026, FDA's position is that NMN can be used in US dietary supplements, and a notification must reach FDA at least 75 days before a product enters interstate commerce, unless an exception applies. We source NMN backed by a notification that covers your dose and format, or prepare one for your programme, and every batch is tested by accredited partner laboratories before release.
What is the difference between NAD+, NMN and NR?
NAD+ is the coenzyme; NMN and NR are precursors the body converts into it. Outside cells, the enzyme CD73 converts NAD+ and NMN to NR, and an oral NR dose can be broken down to nicotinamide in the gut and liver. As of October 2026, NR chloride is authorised for food supplements in GB and the EU, while NMN is sold in the US, so we choose the precursor by market and by the human data for each form.
What dose should an NMN or NR supplement use?
A dose inside each market's conditions and close to the human studies. As of October 2026, NR chloride is authorised in GB and the EU at up to 300 mg a day for adults, and a US NMN product follows the conditions of use in the notification behind its ingredient. In one trial in 80 healthy adults, NMN at 300, 600 and 900 mg a day raised blood NAD, and 900 mg did no better than 600 mg.
Which formats suit NAD+ and NMN supplements?
Capsules and sealed powders are the simplest formats, because they keep the active dry. NR has a relatively labile glycosidic bond and NMN carries the same bond, so we guard against moisture and heat. We use HPMC capsule shells and sealed stick packs, add the active late to gummies with an active assay on every gummy batch, and set liquid and liposomal shelf life from real-time stability data in the final pack.
What claims can an NAD+ supplement make?
In GB and the EU, only authorised nutrient claims: as of October 2026, no authorised claim refers to NAD+, mitochondria or ageing. Labels use niacin's six claims, such as "Niacin contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue", where the product is at least a source of niacin; NR chloride counts as niacin in both. In the US, structure and function claims need competent and reliable scientific evidence, a notification to FDA and FDA's standard disclaimer on the label.
How do you test NMN and NR supplements?
Every batch is tested by accredited partner laboratories (ISO/IEC 17025) as part of every order. Tests cover the identity and content of NMN or NR by HPLC at release and across shelf life, nicotinamide as the breakdown marker, the beta form and related substances, residual solvents, lead, cadmium and mercury, and microbiology. Quality control releases every batch against its specification, and nothing is dispatched without quality control sign-off.
