Your formula is yours
The formula, its specification and its data belong to your brand.
Most of the market sells manufacturing as a commodity: a catalogue formula with your label on it, owned by the supplier and sold to anyone who asks. We develop your own product from your brief, and you own it.
That matters more than it sounds. The brand that owns its formula controls its price, its supply and its future. The brand that doesn’t is renting its product.
What you own
-
The formula
Every ingredient, the form it takes and the quantity in each serving.
-
The specification
The final product specification that every batch is made and tested against.
-
The data
Stability results, test data and the reasoning behind each formulation decision.
Why owning your formula matters
Your price. A manufacturer that owns your formula knows you can’t easily leave, and can price accordingly.
Your supply. If they stop making it, raise their minimums or close, your product goes with them.
Your exit. A brand that owns its formulas can move production, and owns something a buyer or investor can value.
Your edge. Nobody else can buy your product, because nobody else can buy your formula.
Proof with every batch. Each batch is tested against your specification and shipped with its certificate of analysis.
We keep customers through quality and service, not by holding their formula.
A manufacturer that owns your formula owns your future: your price, your supply and your exit. We would rather earn every reorder.
White label, private label or bespoke?
-
White label
A finished product from a supplier’s catalogue, with your label on it. Quick to launch, but the supplier owns the formula and can sell the same product to anyone.
-
Private label
Usually a catalogue formula with small changes, such as flavour or strength. The supplier still owns the formula, so your product can’t move with you.
-
Bespoke
Developed from your brief, for your customers and your markets. With British VitaTech, the formula, its specification and its data belong to you.
Moving manufacturer?
If your current manufacturer owns your formula, it stays with them when you leave. We develop a new formula for you, built to your brief and the evidence, and you own it.
If you already own your formula, we review it, improve it where the evidence says we should, and move production to us.
Either way, we start by understanding why the current product works, or doesn’t, for your customers.
Questions about formula ownership
Who owns the formula you develop for us?
You do. Your formula, its specification and its data belong to your brand. We keep customers through quality and service, not by holding their formula.
What exactly do I own?
The formula: every ingredient, its form and its quantity. The final product specification that every batch is made and tested against. And the data behind it, including stability and test results.
Will you ever sell my formula to another brand?
No. It’s your formula. We never sell it or offer it to anyone else.
Why does formula ownership matter?
Because the brand that owns its formula controls its price, its supply and its future. If a manufacturer owns your formula, moving production means starting again.
Can you make a product another manufacturer developed for us?
If your current manufacturer owns that formula, we develop a new one for you, built to your brief and the evidence, and you own it. If you own your existing formula, we can take it on and improve it.
What’s the difference between white label, private label and bespoke?
White label is a ready-made formula sold to many brands, each with its own label. Private label usually starts from the same catalogue, sometimes with small changes, and the supplier keeps the formula. Bespoke is developed from your brief, for your customers and your markets, and the formula is yours.
