Telehealth and online pharmacy ranges, GLP-1 nutrition included
Our Leicester facility makes custom and own-brand supplements for telehealth providers and online pharmacies, including GLP-1 companion supplements: nutrition for people using GLP-1 medicines, built on protein, fibre, micronutrients and hydration. The name describes the customer, not an effect on GLP-1. Ranges take in protein shakes, fibre and electrolyte sticks, micronutrient capsules and gummies, own-brand staples such as vitamin D and magnesium, and women's health formulas, in formats that suit subscription delivery. Every product comes with its specification, a certificate of analysis for every batch, stability data, an ingredient dossier for your clinicians and a label and claims review for each market.
Clinical logic, safe claims and steady subscription supply
Telehealth providers and online pharmacies sell supplements beside a clinical service, and every product is judged by that service's standards. A telehealth range needs five things from its manufacturer:
- Clinical logic: nutrients chosen against published nutrition priorities, dosed to reference values, upper levels and your claims.
- Claims that sit safely next to a medicine in every market you serve.
- Documents your clinical governance team can sign off.
- Supply that keeps subscriptions running, with the same taste, colour and dose in every delivery.
- Ownership. Your formula is yours.
Claims next to medicines
Companion products sell on their nutrients. As of October 2026, no authorised claim in GB or the EU refers to GLP-1, appetite, satiety or cravings, and the ASA has found claims of an effect on GLP-1 production medicinal, and comparisons with GLP-1 injections to imply a prescription medicine's effects. So every product carries authorised nutrient claims, such as "Protein contributes to the maintenance of muscle mass". Advertising prescription-only medicines to the public is banned in the UK and the EU, so providers that also prescribe keep the two journeys apart: we keep medicine language off the supplement's label, and we review your ads and landing pages so nothing leads from the supplement to the prescription. In the US, claims that a supplement replaces a medicine or boosts its action are drug claims, and so are claims to ease side effects that are medical conditions in their own right. Our claims and regulation page sets out the detail by market.
Claims plan first, then formula, taste and supply
- Brief and claims plan. We agree the customer, the medicines context, the markets and the claims first, because claim conditions set the doses.
- Formulation with your clinicians. Our R&D team builds bench samples and an ingredient dossier for your clinical team: forms, doses against reference values and upper levels, known interactions with common medicines, and label warnings. Labels advise anyone taking medicines to speak to their doctor or pharmacist before use.
- Stability and taste. Stability studies with accredited partner laboratories set the shelf life and vitamin overages. Sensory work masks the bitter, metallic and chalky notes of protein, minerals and some fibres, so people keep taking the product.
- Labels for each market. Your business is the food business operator named on UK and EU labels, and US labels name you with a phrase such as "Distributed by". Labels are verified on every batch as a critical control point.
- Production and supply. We make every batch in Leicester, plan production against your rolling forecast, and split shipments across your fulfilment partners.
A UK pouch brand, a client since 2023, grew from a small brand to over 30,000 units a month; we guided its regulatory and compliance checks as it expanded into Europe, the USA and Mexico, and split its shipments across its fulfilment partners. R&D is a paid stage that can be included with an order of the right size. If you also sell through stores, clinics or beauty channels, see our pages for retailers and distributors, pharmacies, practitioners and clinics and beauty brands. We also make ranges for sports and performance brands.
GLP-1 companion supplements, own-brand staples and women's health
GLP-1 companion nutrition
A joint advisory from four US medical and nutrition societies puts nutrient status, management of side effects and muscle preservation through resistance training at the centre of nutrition for GLP-1 users (Mozaffarian and colleagues, 2025). People using these medicines eat less, so every serving must carry more nutrition per gram. BCG estimates about 16 million active GLP-1 users in the US in 2026, and users in its nine-market survey say they will spend about 20% more on protein and fibre supplements and collagen (BCG, August 2026). The 2025 to 2030 Dietary Guidelines for Americans set a goal of 1.2 to 1.6 g of protein per kilogram of body weight a day (USDA and HHS, January 2026); a 20 to 25 g serving in a small shake covers about a quarter of that for a 70 kg adult. Chicory inulin carries a bowel function claim at 12 g a day, so we split fibre across servings. Micronutrient formulas follow the advisory's examples of nutrients of concern, such as iron, calcium, magnesium, zinc and vitamins D and B12, and keep iron apart from calcium, which reduces its absorption. Companion ranges draw on four formats, all made in Leicester:
- Protein shakes: whey or plant protein blends with 15 to 30 g of protein per serving, in tubs or single-serve sticks.
- Fibre sticks: chicory inulin, partially hydrolysed guar gum or acacia gum, dosed per serving for tolerance.
- Micronutrient capsules and gummies: targeted multinutrients in small sizes, with forms chosen for absorption, taste and stability.
- Electrolyte sticks: sodium, potassium and magnesium for hydration routines.

Own-brand staples
An online pharmacy own brand can start with staples such as vitamin D, multinutrients, magnesium, iron and B vitamins, each carrying an authorised claim at the level the register requires. Private label puts a stock formula under your name; a bespoke formula gives you forms, doses and evidence that competitors can't buy from a catalogue. Each product comes with its specification, certificates of analysis and a label and claims review, ready for your pharmacy listing.
Women's health ranges
We plan women's health ranges by life stage: iron and vitamin B6 for the cycle years, folic acid before conception, and calcium, vitamin D, magnesium and protein in midlife. The claims set the doses. The folic acid claim for women of child-bearing age needs at least 400 µg of folic acid per daily portion, while "Vitamin B6 contributes to the regulation of hormonal activity" needs only a source level. Copy stays with the register's wording; our women's health supplement manufacturing page covers each life stage.
Subscription formats
Subscriptions reward one clear daily serving that travels well. Stick packs and sachets carry one measured dose each; capsules ship in letterbox-sized pouches, with refill pouches for a jar sent with the first order; gummies are GMP certified and get an active assay on every batch as standard. Capsules are GMP certified too, and powders, sachets and stick packs are made in Leicester. We run the stability study in the finished pack, so the shelf life covers your subscription cycle and stock rotation, and every batch is released against the same specification, so taste, colour and dose match from one delivery to the next.
What your clinical governance team receives
We are ISO 9001, HACCP and GMP certified by BSI, and FDA registered, as a food facility for dietary supplements. BRCGS implementation under way, certification expected in early 2027. Every batch is tested by accredited partner laboratories (ISO/IEC 17025) as part of every order and released by quality control against its specification; our testing and batch release page explains the methods. Your clinical governance team receives:
- the product specification and a certificate of analysis for every batch;
- batch release confirmation, tied to the batch's traceability record;
- stability data behind the shelf life on the pack;
- an ingredient status file for each market, with supplier certificates;
- the ingredient dossier, and a label and claims review for each market;
- our quality pack: BSI certificates, a HACCP summary and a worked traceability example, shared under confidentiality.
A quality agreement sets change control before first production, so you hear before any material, supplier or process changes. We keep three retained samples per batch for shelf life plus one year and can run a full mock recall, forward and backward with mass balance, in seconds. In the US, the company named on a dietary supplement label must report serious adverse events to FDA no later than 15 business days after receiving them and keep records of every adverse event report for six years. We support each report with the batch record, the certificate of analysis and tests on retained samples. Start your project with your service, your customers and your markets.

Questions brands ask
What are GLP-1 companion supplements?
GLP-1 companion supplements are nutrition products for people using GLP-1 medicines: the name describes the customer, not an effect on GLP-1. They focus on protein to help maintain muscle, fibre, the micronutrients users can fall short of, and hydration, in small servings for people who eat less. As of October 2026, no authorised claim in GB or the EU refers to GLP-1, so they carry nutrient claims. British VitaTech develops and makes them for telehealth providers and online pharmacies.
Can a provider that prescribes GLP-1 medicines sell its own companion supplements?
Yes, when the supplement stands on its own nutrition. As of October 2026, advertising prescription-only medicines to the public is banned in the UK and the EU, so a supplement's label, ads and landing pages must not promote the medicine or lead to pages that do. We build companion products on authorised nutrient claims, keep medicine language off the label, and review your ads and landing pages before launch, so the two journeys stay apart.
Can a companion supplement claim to ease a medicine's side effects?
Not in GB or the EU. As of October 2026, no authorised claim there covers a medicine's side effects. In the US, a claim to ease side effects that are medical conditions in their own right is a drug claim, so US copy stays with structure and function claims. Companion products sell on their protein, fibre, micronutrients and hydration instead, with authorised claims such as "Protein contributes to the maintenance of muscle mass".
Do you make own-brand supplements for online pharmacies?
Yes. We develop and make own-brand supplements in our Leicester facility, from everyday staples to bespoke formulas. Your pharmacy is the food business operator named on UK and EU labels, and US labels carry a qualifying phrase such as "Distributed by". Every batch is tested by accredited partner laboratories as part of every order. Your formula is yours, including its specification and data, and R&D is a paid stage that can be included with an order of the right size.
Which formats suit subscription supplements?
Formats with one clear daily serving that travel well suit subscriptions: stick packs and sachets, capsules in letterbox-sized pouches with refill pouches, and gummies. We run stability studies in the finished pack, so the shelf life covers the subscription cycle, and every batch is released against the same specification, so taste, colour and dose stay consistent from one delivery to the next. We make every format in our Leicester facility, which is ISO 9001, HACCP and GMP certified by BSI.
What documents do you provide for clinical governance?
We provide what a clinical team needs to approve a product: the specification, a certificate of analysis for every batch from our accredited partner laboratories, batch release confirmation, stability data, an ingredient status file for each market, and a label and claims review. Our ingredient dossier covers forms, doses against reference values and upper levels, and known interactions with common medicines. Our quality pack adds our BSI certificates, a HACCP summary and a worked traceability example.
Who reports adverse events for a US own-brand supplement?
The company named on the label does. As of October 2026, US law makes the manufacturer, packer or distributor named on a dietary supplement label the responsible person, who must report serious adverse events to FDA no later than 15 business days after receiving them and keep records of every adverse event report for six years. We support each report with the batch record, the certificate of analysis and tests on our retained samples, kept for shelf life plus one year.
